Cyber Camp @ the Library on March 18th from 1:00 p.m. For ages 8 years and over. Free admission- pre-reigister at Library.

Come and make St. Patty’s Day craft @ the Library on March 17th from 1:30 p.m to 2:30 p.m.  open to ages five years and older. No Charge – but must register before Tuesday- Class limit is 20! And Don’t forget to wear Green

Come out & have a fun afternoon playing pictionary! No teams are required, participants will be put into teams.

Come out and watch ” The Smartie Garden”  March 16th @ 11.pm to noon @ the Library. Make a paperbag puppet after the show. No registration  required – all ages are welcome!

Do you like to ROCK?  Think you got what it takes on the guitar?  Wild on the Drums?  Or just want to have fun?  If you are under 10, come play Rock Band 2 on Tuesdays from 3pm to 5pm and if you are 11 or older, come play Rock Band 2 on Thursdays from 3pm to 5pm.  Other games will be available soon.

The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters Tackle Share program is now available through the Terrace Bay Public Library.

This program is designed to lend fishing equipment to youth and novice anglers who do not have their own.
Fishing is a wonderful way to get outdoors and enjoy some fun with family and friends.  Angling teaches, young and old alike, first hand the importance of healthy waterways, and develops a lifelong interest in conserving our natural resources.

Anyone can sign out rods, reels, and tackle free of charge!

Ontario Time Machine is an online learning site for Grade 7 and 8 students of Ontario history and their teachers; the site was just awarded the Ontario Minister of Culture Award for Innovation (Large Library Category).  A joint project of the Toronto, Hamilton and Kingston Frontenac Public Library systems, it showcases a selection of some 30 books from Ontario’s early days.  The books are presented in a fun format – readers can actually turn the virtual pages!  They’re also enriched by librarians with definitions, images, sound files and more.  The site also offers classroom activities that specifically support the Ontario history curriculum.

There is also a contest.  The rules for the Digital Scavenger Hunt contest are simple – students use Ontario Time Machine to answer five questions. All correct entries are eligible for a draw – they can then win a digital camera, MP3 player or pizza. The contest deadline is May 1, 2009.
